Thursday, January 26, 2006 This few days (& the next) I felt like my Department is having our own C.S.I. show. No, there aren't any gruesome murders or bizarre acts but rather, it's suspected fraud & thief.Though I already have a main suspect, I hate to wrongly accuse someone. Before you think "nah, boring" .....think again cuz sometimes, somethings are not as simple as it seems. Or maybe so I thought. It could be me watching too many of those TV dramas or movies & thinking too much into it. Anyway, if you're keen to follow the plot. Continue reading. Sorry for the weak script though, since I'm not a professional. Title C.S.I - Singapore Episode 1: Is it her or is it her? Casting Lead Actress: Girl B (who also happens to be my main suspect) Supporting Actress: Girl A (who also happens to be the narrator of this episode) Supporting Cast: PI. 1 (me), PI. 2 (superior) Story One working day, a public customer handed over a wallet she found in the ladies toilet to Girl A. Girl A then took out the contents of the wallet to check & fill out the details in the Found Item form. She indicated there was $X & several other personal identifications. Next Girl B entered the scene. Girl B just came back from a ciggie break & was told by Girl A that a wallet was found. Girl B then rummaged through the wallet & told Girl A that $X found in the wallet is a lot. Girl A then noticed Girl B going through the wallet a few times after that but thought nothing much of it. Not long after, Girl B told Girl A that she'll pass the item to the Security since she's going for her mealbreak soon. At this point, let me sidetrack a bit & tell you the procedures for handling found items for a better understanding: 1. Check contents of wallet & indicate in the form 2. Pass the item & the original form to the Security 3. Security will photocopy the form & keep the duplicate, while the original will be handed back to the staff for filing at the counter Ok, so far? Right, back to the story. Girl B handed the wallet to Security. Later that night, Security managed to find the owner of the wallet but was told by the owner that cash was missing. Now, this is where the plot thickens. 1. The original Found item form was not brought back by Girl B to be filed at the counter 2. PI 2 was alerted by Girl A & Security about the missing cash 3. PI 2 then requested the duplicated copy of the Found item form from Security 3. Duplicated copy was signed off by Girl A but description of items found in wallet did not state that there was any cash in it 4. Girl A was asked to verify if the Found item form was a duplicate of her 1st original copy. 5. Girl A said that the handwritting is not hers though the signature made it looks like it was signed by her 6. PI 1 did a 'forensic' check on the handwritting & confirmed that the 'fake' original copy was the handwritting of Girl B 7. PI 1 also confirmed with PI 2 & Girl A that the signature was forged So now the mystery is - Who took the money? Is it as simple as Girl B is the one who took it? Or could it be Girl A cooked up a story to malign Girl B or could it be Girl A was actually the one who took the $ but make it look like as though it's Girl B? But then, who can explain what happened to the 1st original copy of the Found item form, since that is a piece of crucial evidence? And if Girl B is not the one who took the $, then why did she has to 'reopen' a form & forged the signature of Girl A? Follow so far? I have done my a round of investigation with some of the supporting cast & also with Girl A today. I'll conduct an internal inquiry with Girl B tomorrow. But till then, I'm only hearing one side of the story from Girl A. As such, I don't want to jump to conclusion...though I can't help it but strongly suspect, the money was taken by Girl B. But she can't be that stupid to steal the $ & leave loopholes right? aiyo...I'm having a headache. Saturday, January 21, 2006 There is something that I need to do, should do or should have done.But I don't know if I can. Dilemma, Confusion, Fear, Ambiguity. I have been doing a lot of thinking lately. Work, Relationship, Life, Studies. I remembered a recent sermon in church. The priest said one day, a lady came up to him and asked "Father, how can I find inner peace?". And the priest answered, "It's not how you can find but rather, who you can find it in". Tuesday, January 17, 2006 ARGH! I'm having the worst breakouts on my face ever!My forehead & chin areas are usuallythe problematic ones, especially with the former. My forehead now is literally "pimplerated". It has such big red patches all over...with the scarring & scabs from the squeezing, pimples/acnes, blackhead/whitehead & all these little red bumps that can't seem to surface properly or go away!! Now even my nose area & cheeks are popping out small bumps. I think it's either the time of the month or because I went for face-threading @ Little India last weekend which causes the irritation. I feel so ugly & conscious when I go out. If I have a choice, I would want to hide at home till I 'recover' well enough to face the world. I even felt like taking MCs cuz I feels too ugly to step out of the house & I had to pile tons of makeup, which could make matters worse. Next week is already CNY & I really hope my face will clear up soon. Saturday, January 07, 2006 A new year has started. And on a side note, I just wanted to share with you my resolutions this year:1. To save up $ 2. Limit my impulse buying 3. Be nicer to people (not that I am not now but I think I can be a better person) Back to the subject topic. Looking back in my life, there are a couple of achievements that I'm proud of & I hope in time to come, I can achieve more, be it academic, job, personal relationship or spiritually wise. Sorry if this is going to be a "boasting about myself" entry but hey, it's a new year. Making oneself feels good by looking back & hoping for the better in future is a good start! Greatest achievements till date: 1. Passing my GCE 'O' Levels, especially my Maths. Never liked the subject & had failed many times in Math tests. Had even scored 16 points out of 100 before (I think) but when it comes to exams, somehow I managed to scrap through. 2. Winner of the National Business Strategy Competition 1996 A competition among all the Polytechnics. Won a Cash Prize of $5,000 which was shared among 4 team- mates (which by no surprised, I spent the $1,250 in no time). 3. Graduated from Temasek Polytechnic 4. Obtained a Bachelor's Degree 5. Nominated as Vice-President of Publicity Committee, Toastsmasters Club Singapore Tourism Board 6. Best Trainee of Batch 11/2003, MobileOne Ltd One of my proudest moments. A tough 3 months training programme before the real "shit". Managed to ace most of the tests & was voted by the trainers & fellow batch-mates as Best Trainee. Really thankful for that. 7. Achieving Individual Achievement 2nd Quarter 2004, MobileOne Ltd and hitting all my KPIs every quarter. 8. Hitting all my KPIs every quarter at MobileOne Ltd and "earning" shopping vouchers! Though it's mainly academic, I'm pretty proud of myself on what I had achieved so far. At least when I looked back in life & the things that I've done, I know there are things that I have done right. No major breakthrough achievements yet - like earning my 1st million, getting married to a nice & rich guy, etc. But I believed everyone has their accomplishments in their own way or another.
