It's official. I have to postpone my customary wedding / actual day (AD) due to some family reasons (cuz of my bro who won't be in town during Oct during my AD).

So we had it postponed to 8 December 2007, Sat. Ironically, this was originally the date we had wanted but cuz the church was booked in the morning & it clashes with the slot we wanted, we had to change to another date.

Luckily, I have "inside" info that the morning church wedding on 8 Dec was cancelled. So I called the church to book the new date, inform the Priest and also contact M Hotel.

All this done within 3 days...cuz must "chop-chop" & I was under a lot of stress, anxiety & uncertaintly.

Thankfully, M Hotel still has slot for 8 Dec (to my surprise!) cuz most weekends for Dec has already been fully booked.

And also the organist/soloist that I am going to engage for my church wedding is available on 8 Dec too but other dates in Dec he not free liao. heng ah!

I'm grateful to God for answering my prayers & for providing me! Alleluia! :)

Went to my 1st HDB appt last Fri & also the 1st appt with my bridal studio designer.

Our 2nd appt with HDB is on 23 Mar. Actually wanted earlier but since the seller requested for a slight extension, we didn't have much choice. Sianz.

We actually can't wait to have the keys to our house & for reno work to start. BTW, we got a 5rm flat in Sengkang, which is about 5 years-old and pretty near the MRT too.

Currently, we are trying to get a few quotations from ID/reno firms. So far, only got 1! A few didn't revert. I realised it's quite common for some companies to not follow-up with customers and most often customers also strike them out from their list. Cuz since they don't even follow-up with a quotation, how can we expect them to do a good job.

So anyway, since we're only getting our house in Mar, we still have time to source around.

Had our 1st appointment with My Bridal Room designer, Sandra. I liked her the 1st time we met when we signed up the package..cuz she is quite good at her work & I'm comfortable with her designs etc.

Tried on a few more gowns & I also brought some materials (i.e. magazines, pictures downloaded from web) for Sandra to work on. We had such a fun & fruitful time. Even Michael was contributing quite a bit.

I'm thankful Michael is not the type of "who can't seem to get out of a bridal shop" kind of guy. In fact, he's quite participative one. Even the owner of the bridal shop recognises him & said we're a nice couple - very honest & friendly couple...haha.

Anyway, Sandra sketched my WG & EG. She's fast & good! I shall wait till my 1st fitting then I reveal my gowns design, hehee.

I can't wait for the final product though!

Came back from Hua Hin & BKK on Mon.

We arrived in Hua Hin on late Tuesday night. A 3hrs drive from Bangkok.

Surprisingly it was cold at Hua Hin at night as we stopped the van & had a quick bite.

Anyway, our trip in Hua Hin was pretty much hassle-free cuz one of our friend's dad's friend who's a Thai helped to settle the transport for us.

By the way, we also stayed at his holiday bungalow. Apparently, this guy is quite rich. He stays in BKK but has houses in Hua Hin, Chiang Mai and god knows where else.

His bungalow faces the beach directly & our rooms had a seaview literally, hehee. All our meals were taken care of by the housekeeper (that is unless we decide to eat out). We felt like Kings & Queens man. Wake up only, already have yummylicious porridge ready and what's more, we don't have to do the dishes! hehee.

Hua Hin is pretty much like Phuket, except it's less crowded. The stretch of beach the bungalow was situated has a number of 5-stars hotel located in the area. The Marriott Hotel is just next to our bungalow.

Anyhow, a few of us suntanned while some went to play golf. I got tanned & burnt quite a bit. My legs & hands were reddish even up till the days I was in BKK. I also developed some kinda heat rash when I reached BKK.....think the weather in BKK is hot & humid & my skin is dry & burnt from the suntanning in Hua Hin, hehee.

Reached BKK on Friday....and the moment I entered BKK, my nose felt stuffy & soon it developed to full-blown flu. What a bummer!

I wasn't the only "casualty" on this trip. Michael was also feeling unwell in Hua Hin but recovered the day after. Another of our friend had a fever in BKK but recovered the day after too. Only me with the flu & cough still has it till now. Boohoo.

Everything is per normal in BKK, despite the NY bombing. Still so many pple. And we still shopped like nobody business. I bought myself 7 pairs of shoes! haha...yeah, the only thing I indulge on when I'm in BKK.

Anyhow, this trip didn't go all too smoothly. Michael & I had two arguments. Haiz...think that's the difference between "courting" days, to "pak-tor" days to married days. But I guess it really takes effort for both to make things work.

So in the end, both of us give in and then carry on with our trip/life.

Sometimes I just feel like complacency has sets in to our relationship and I don't like it. But I guess it's reality that things do change and we cannot expect things or feelings to remain constant or be like in the past...we have to move on & look forward to the future, rather than dwell in the past :)

Still, on the whole...I pretty much enjoyed the trip & holiday. Can't wait for the next holiday break..haha!

Here are the pics:

A good 2007 to one & all!

My first post for the year.

Didn't celebrate the counting down to 2007 with much fanfare. Leave the party & booze to the young people, haha.

Instead, we played mahjung at a friend's place & watched fireworks from her house. Guess staying at 28th floor & with an unblocked view helps.

I'm flying off to Hua Hin & Bangkok this evening for a week. It's sort of a mini-honeymoon for me & Michael though we are going with 5 other couples.

Hopefully, Bangkok will be safe. After the NYE's bombings, some were concern abt going to BKK. But for us, we still want to go ahead with our plans.

Anyway, we bought a new Panasonic digicam with the angbaos we got during our ROM (btw, we didn't expect to receive so much angbaos & gifts from family & friends....but it was really nice), so I'd be taking photos especially of Hua Hin & post it here.

Stay tune!
