Of the World

Attended my 3rd lesson for the tourism course.

I think this is where the real lesson begins (the previous were more on general information) cuz I was pretty lost & for awhile I thought the lecturer was speaking Greek.

Though I've worked in the Singapore Tourism Board for close to 3 years, I was not prepared for this. The course is more industry based, especially for the Travel Agencies.

And one never know so much planning & time & calculation has to be done before a tour / destination is rolled out. We have to plot the route for destinations (e.g. from Madrid to Paris to Rome to London back to Madrid in the fastest route), to locating cities by using the longitudes & latitudes of the world map. Hello??!! Is anyone as lost as me yet?

Of "Politics"

Had my first brush with office politics in my new company today. Both me & a colleague of mine. I've never been interested to start or be involved in one...but I guess that doesn't stop anyone from creating one.

Some people just have nothing else better to do. Either that or they're jealous (I think that must be it)! Or, it could just be a case of intention miscontrued. And you know what the grouse is about? It's something like "how come I'm so busy, but they're so free & can walk around".

Everyone in the company is employed to do their respective job & so what if I'm an efficient worker. That doesn't mean I cannot have free time to do my stuff. And my job does entail me to walk around to do rounding at times too. Duh! It's all about working smart, not just hard. Sheesh.

Can't wait to find out who's the bugger.
