Went to watch Quidam by Cirque du Soleil yesterday evening. It was an awesome / excellent / fantabulous performance. This is their 3rd show here in Singapore. 1st was Saltimbanco (which I caught quite some years back) & 2nd was Alegria (which I missed...haiz).

The Grand Chapiteau

As compared to their previous 2 shows, Quidam has a darker edge to it. At times, I can feel its melancholy & at times, celebratory. Cirque du Soleil's shows never fails to amaze me with their combination of entertainment, artistry & acrobatic elements. The strength, coordination, agility, balance & body-control in their performances really take my breath away. At times, the performance were so intense & jaw dropping, most of us (the audience) went silent with concentration & then erupt with thunderous applause.

One of my favourite segments was the comedy skit. This is a common feature in all their shows, whereby the performers will pick (I call it 'sabo') a few members of the audience to participate. I laughed so hard & loud that I was tearing (literally 'chio kar peng'...if I can roll on the floor & laughed, I would...haha). But really, so long never laughed until so happy liao.

During the 30mins interval, I made a beeline to the toilet. Woah! The queue snaked like nobody business, but luckily it moved quite fast. And the toilet is not the kind you see in public events or in Sentosa, those individual portable toilets that are unisex, dirty, smelly & hot. This one still got divide into Male & Female containers. Each container consists of about 6 cubicles with sliding doors inside. And to my surprise & pleasure, it was very clean & not smelly at all. Got proper toilet seats with working flushing buttons & even have toilet paper provided! Impressed right! I can't help it but to take a photo of it...hehee.

The toilet

Only grouse I have is that the souvenirs & food items sold there very EX. Wanted to buy a small tub of Ben & Jerry's ice-cream but don't know how much it cost, just know sure very expensive. So when a lady in front of me bought it & gave the girl $5 (I didn't see any change), I knew then it cost a 'blardy' $5! Decided not to buy it. Siao! I can go buy 3-4 sticks of Magnolia Magnum ice-cream with that amount. Anyway, after the show finished, I ended buying a Quidam mug at $19.

Anyway, my ex-colleagues in M1 can get to watch FREE Quidam as part of the company's D&D since M1 is the presenting sponsor in Singapore. So good!! Why this kind of good lobang never happens to me when I was working there?! Duh.

But still, with a world-class performance & a clean toilet, I felt my $120 was actually well spent.
