Gong Xi Fai Cai!

This year's Lunar New Year has been a bountiful one for me so far.

Played mahjung & won.....hardly I win in mahjung games and it had been so long since I won quite a bit.

It was also the first time I collected so much angpao $$ (almost double from what I used to get). All thanks to Michael's family & relatives. They are a pretty generous lot.

But this will also be the 1st & last time cuz from next year, we have to give angpaos instead of receiving liao. Sianz man!

And also cuz Michael's relatives are generous, this also means next time when we give angpaos, we also have to be. Doubly sianz!

On another note, it has been officially announced that GST will be increased to 7% wef 1 July (triple sianz!).

If all goes well, we should be starting our house reno in April & should be moving in by June. In time for the Great Singapore Sale and to buy house stuff before the GST increase.

We have appointed the ID cum reno firm called The Interior Place to do up our house. After a few rounds of negotiation on the price, we have finally decided to go ahead to do up almost the whole house.

Ironically, when we bought the house we didn't want to do much reno cuz the unit itself is quite a "move-in" condition but it's just not to our taste totally. And the more we discussed, we more ideas we have....so in the end from a tight budget we had given the ID, it now had expanded to abt 50% more than the original budget we had thought of.

For the next year or so, we really have to be VERY VERY prudent liao man.
